Prayers Requested for those in Path of Hurricane Ida

Cleveland, TN: The General Overseer of the Church of God, Dr. Timothy M. Hill, issued a call for prayer today for all those in the path of Hurricane Ida. This massive storm is scheduled to make landfall Sunday afternoon and evening in the New Orleans area, at least as a deadly Category 4 hurricane. With associated rain and peak winds up to 150 mph, the potential for massive destruction in South Louisiana and Mississippi is feared.

“On the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the good people of New Orleans and the surrounding area are once again facing a huge hurricane and the potential of loss of life and property. As you know, we have church family all across this area of South Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. So, I call upon the Church of God family around the world to pray for those that may be impacted by this massive storm. Our church family in this area, as well as millions of others, need our prayers at this time,” noted Hill.

Led by Operation Compassion, God’s Pit Crew, and Men & Women of Action, all disaster relief entities within the Church of God have been preparing for the last several days for this storm. Supplies and equipment, as well as support staff, will be sent in as soon as the local officials give clearance.

While your contributions are necessary, prayers for those impacted are most needed. Please pray for God‘s protection and provision for those along the Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama coastal areas.
